Are lessons right for you?

Our studio welcomes musicians of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds. If you have a genuine desire to explore, learn, and build music into your life, we want to work with you. Music is a journey of personal growth, creativity, and self-expression, and we believe everyone has the potential to develop their musical abilities.

Lesson Matching Process:

  • Upon initial inquiry, we will carefully match you with a compatible instructor

  • The assigned teacher will contact you to schedule a complimentary 20-minute introductory meeting

  • This initial consultation allows both student and instructor to:

    • Discuss musical goals and expectations

    • Assess teaching and learning styles

    • Determine mutual compatibility

    • Explore potential lesson structures

For Young Students: We recommend parental involvement to support the learning process. A supportive parent's presence during lessons is valuable, helping to:

  • Reinforce verbal and visual instructions

  • Assist with practice routines

  • Provide consistent encouragement

  • Collaborate closely with the instructor to support the student's musical development

Our goal is to create a supportive, inspiring environment where every student can discover and nurture their musical potential.

Online Lesson Preparation Guide

Virtual Lesson Platform:

  • Video conferencing will be conducted via Zoom, FT, or another format agreed to upon by student and teacher.

  • Be ready with printed sheet music, a writing utensil, and anything else you'll need for your lesson!

Lesson Environment:

  • Select a quiet, private space free from interruptions and background noise

  • Ensure adequate lighting and a neutral background if possible

  • Minimize potential distractions (e.g., silencing mobile devices, informing household members of lesson time)

  • Choose a location with sufficient space to comfortably demonstrate musical techniques

Zoom Audio Configuration:

  • Enable "Original Sound" for optimal audio quality

  • Procedure to activate Original Sound:

    • Join Zoom meeting

    • Click "Original Sound" button in the top left corner of the Zoom window

    • Toggle the option to turn on "Original Sound"

    • Ensure "Suppress Background Noise" is set to "Low"

  • Test audio settings before the lesson to confirm clear sound transmission

Technical Requirements for voice:

  • Utilize separate devices for:

    1. Video connectivity (primary device, e.g., computer)

    2. Accompaniment playback (secondary device, e.g., tablet or smartphone)

Accompaniment Resources: Recommended accompaniment sources include:

  • Accompanist the app!

  • YouTube karaoke tracks​

How do I pay my tuition?

Monthly Tuition: $325

  • Includes on average four instructional lessons per month that are 50 minutes in length

  • Billed on the first day of each month

Payment Terms:

  • Payment is due by the first of the month

  • First lesson of the month will not be given until tuition is received

  • Please submit payment through the online billing portal

Prompt and timely payment ensures uninterrupted instruction and maintains your scheduled lesson time.

Do you offer performance experiences?

Yes! Twice annually, Frontier Music Academy celebrates student achievements through our December and May studio recitals. These performances are transformative moments that showcase each student's musical growth and artistic development.

Our recitals provide students with invaluable opportunities to:

  • Build performance confidence

  • Demonstrate newly acquired skills

  • Share music with family and friends

  • Mark their musical progression

From the festive winter performance to the vibrant spring showcase, these events highlight the joy of musical expression. Every student, regardless of skill level, is celebrated for their dedication and passion.

Performance is more than playing notes—it's about embracing artistic courage and creating lasting musical memories.

What if I need to cancel a lesson?

We are happy to reschedule lessons with 24 hours notice.Students are required to provide a minimum of 24 hours' notice for lesson they cannot attend. Failure to provide adequate notice will result in forfeiture of makeup lesson privileges at the teacher's discretion. In cases of illness, prompt communication with the studio is expected.
